Rdonna Project ارضنا ( Our Earth  )

Rdonna Project ارضنا ( literally Our Earth in Arabic ) aims to create, cultivate and process herbal products from medicinal plants. The main idea is to grow high-value medicinal and aromatic plants and process them using aquaponics system .

Aquaponics is the farming practice that grows fish and greens together. The fish tanks with  tilapia line the wall of the greenhouse supplying nutrients to the   deep water culture beds. In the center is a plant deck and nursery where the plants get the initial start. The nutrient rich water that flows through the aquaculture allowing us to grow beautiful plants .

What is aquaponics ?

A cooperation between plants and fish and the term originates from the two words aquaculture (the growing of fish in a closed environment) and hydroponics (the growing of plants usually in a soil-less environment).

In other words, aquaponics is the cultivation of fish and plants together in a constructed, recirculating ecosystem utilizing natural bacterial cycles to convert fish waste to plant nutrition. This is an environmentally friendly, natural food-growing method that harnesses the best attributes of aquaculture and hydroponics without the need to discard any water or filtrate or add chemical fertilizers.

Aquaponics Benefits ?

The obvious advantages are the reduced land and fertiliser usage, and weather dependence. The amount of water required is also 90-95% ,Efficient, sustainable and highly productive. Produce is free of pesticides and herbicides. Fish are free of growth hormones and antibiotics. Allows continuous production of food.

  • Aquaponics relies on the recycling of nutrient-rich water continuously, there is no toxic run-off from either hydroponics or aquaculture.
  • Aquaponics uses 1/10th of the water of soil-based gardening and even less water than hydroponics or recirculating aquaculture.
  •  It’s a natural ecosystem.
  •  No harmful pesticides, petrochemicals or herbicides .
  •  Instead of using dirt and toxic chemical solutions to grow plants, aquaponics uses highly nutritious fish effluent (affectionately called fish poop) that contains all the essential nutrients for optimal plant growth.
  • Aquaponics uses the plants, naturally occurring bacteria, and the water media in which they grow to clean and purify the water.
  • The water is reused indefinitely only needing to be topped-off when it is lost through transpiration from the plants and evaporation.

The Rdonna Project MVP's

Rdonna Phase I

Eco-friendly packaging for our herbal food supplements, essential oils, skin care creams , hair & face care  , with herbs 100°/° Natural .

Rdonna phase II

The DWC method involves suspending plants in polystyrene sheets, with their roots hanging down into the water .

Rdonna Phase III

On a 231 M2 area, We are building an Aquaponic Greenhouse with Solar Panels, for a Clean and Renewable Energy, to produce 3,5 tons of Plants and Vegetables, and 1,5 tons of Fish .
